Specification for DEP Series Duplex Float Control Panel

The duplex pump control panel shall be of the float controlled type and shall be as manufactured by Sun Coast Hydraulic Electric, Jacksonville, Florida or engineer pre-approved equal to the specifications herein.

• The Control Panel at a minimum shall include the following components:

o Nema rated enclosure
o Inner deadfront door
o Generator receptacle
o Lightning/ Surge arrestor
o Interlocked Main/ Emergency breakers
o Thermal magnetic pump breaker (two each)
o IEC motor starter (two each)
o Undervoltage/ Phase monitor relay
o Alarm horn with silence circuit
o Alarm beacon
o Electronic alternator
o Elapsed time meter (two each)
o Run pilot light (two each)
o Seal fail light (two each)
o Hand-Off-Auto switch (two each)

• UL Label:

The Pump Control panel shall be constructed by a UL 508 listed control panel manufacturing facility. The Pump Control Panel shall bear the UL 508 serialized label. Pump Control Panels that bear the UL label “UL Listed Cutout Box or UL Listed Enclosure” do not meet the UL certification requirements.

• Standard Components:

The Pump Control Panel shall be constructed using the following components or engineer pre-approved equal.

• Enclosure:

The Enclosure shall be one of the following:

o Nema 3R Galvanized Painted Steel
o Nema 3R 304 Stainless Steel
o Nema 4X Fiberglass

The enclosure if made of steel or stainless steel shall be manufactured by a nationally recognized manufacturer. The enclosure shall be as manufactured by Electromate, Hoffmann or Saginaw.

The enclosure if made of fiberglass shall be manufactured by a nationally recognized manufacturer. The enclosure shall be as manufactured by Allied, Stahlin or Vynckier.

• Aluminum Dead Front door:

The dead front inner door shall be manufactured of 5052-H32 .080 marine grade brushed aluminum. The dead front door shall be hinged and include hardware to keep the dead front door closed without the use of manual latches. The dead front shall be provided with a pull handle.

• IEC Motor Starter:

The motor starter shall be of the IEC FVNR (full voltage non-reversing) type. The unit shall be DIN rail mountable with a standard NO side mounted auxiliary contact. A fixed overload relay with manual reset shall be included. Unit shall be Cutler-Hammer Freedom Series or engineer pre-approved equal.

• Thermal Magnetic Circuit breaker:

The thermal magnetic circuit breaker shall be rated 10,000 AIC at 240V. Unit shall be Cutler-Hammer model QC or engineer pre-approved equal.

• Elapsed Time meter:

The elapsed time meter shall be a six digit, solid state, non-resettable type. Unit shall be ENM T50 series or engineer pre-approved equal.

• Pilot lights:

The pilot lights shall be incandescent type with .250 quick connect tabs and polycarbonate colored lens. Pilot lights shall be Solico 3300 series or engineer pre-approved equal.

• Hand-Off-Auto Toggle Switch:

A three position, SPDT, toggle switch shall be provided for each pump.

• Motor Overtemp shutdown:

A circuit shall be provided for connection to each motor’s thermal switch. This switch shall open upon a motor high temperature condition and shut down the respective pump motor. This circuit shall be non-latching and allow the motor to resume operation upon reaching an operational temperature.

• Electronic Alternator:

An automatic electronic alternator shall be provided for equalized run time of the motors. The alternator shall have DPDT cross wired contacts, LED indicator and shall alternate after each pumping cycle. The alternator shall be Macromatic model ARP120A3 or engineer pre-approved equal.

• Undervoltage/ Phase Monitor relay:

A single phase undervoltage relay shall be provided for voltage monitoring. The unit shall have a DPDT 5 amp contact, automatic reset and adjustable trip setting. The undervoltage relay shall be Diversified model UOA-240-ALA or engineer pre-approved equal.

A three phase monitor relay shall be provided for phase loss, under voltage and phase reversal monitoring. The unit shall have a DPDT 5 amp contact, automatic reset and adjustable trip setting. The phase monitor relay shall be Diversified model SLA-240-ASA or engineer pre-approved equal.

• Alarm Light:

A red alarm light shall be provided for visual indication of a High water condition and shall be located on top of the enclosure. The unit shall consist of a 15w-130V clear rough service appliance bulb. The alarm light shall be an Ingram Products model MX-15 or engineer pre-approved equal.

• Alarm Horn:

An adjustable alarm horn shall be provided for audible indication of a High water condition. The unit shall be solid state, adjustable tone, 80dBA/ 30cm and fit a standard 30mm cutout. Panel shall also include a pushbutton that when pressed will energize a relay whereby silencing the horn. The alarm horn shall be Ingram Products model PW120A or engineer pre-approved equal.

• Generator Receptacle:

A generator receptacle shall be mounted on the side of the enclosure. It shall include a weatherproof flap cover. The receptacle shall be Pass & Seymour or engineer pre-approved equal.

• Lightning/ Surge Arrestor:

A secondary surge arrestor shall be provided on the line side of the main breaker. It shall be comprised of parallel metal oxide varistors (MOV) attached from each line to grounded neutral and be epoxy encapsulated to protect internal components from moisture, dirt and corrosion. The lightning/ surge arrestor shall be Intermatic model AG2401 (single phase) / AG6503 (three phase) or engineer pre-approved equal.
